December 30, 2000 The full-length "hi-fi" cd has been cancelled due to numerous technical difficulties. However, work has already begun on a new "lo-fi" cassette ep. This should be all set to go by tour time. Numerous songs were recorded over the extended X-Mas weekend. And the word on the street is that they are all 100% Greco.
November 11, 2000 The BIG DUMB FACE/ELGRECO U.S. tour has been officially rescheduled for March. Select dates will feature the addition of AIRBRUSH, the world's premiere "air band!" Rumor had it that El Greco had possibly found a back up band for the tour. It wasn't a rumor, but it is no longer true. Back to plan A. He has currently enlisted Mr. Shirilla to program new and improved beats for both the show and an upcoming cd. Yes, El Greco is currently working with Jason Von Hoose on a new full-length which should be pressed to cd by the time touring begins. It will contain revamped versions of old classics, and more than likely, 2 or 3 new tunes. Songs already confirmed include: Super Dance, Dick Blick, Dry Mouth, I Need Ciggies, and Don't Hate My Pants. Also, coming soon for purchase are a limited edition of "one-of-a-kind" T-Shirts. That's right, every shirt contains the same logo with a different image. Get them while they last (limited to 500)!
September 18, 2000 So get this, El Greco is mentioned in yet another sidebar. This time it's in the October issue of Guitar World magazine in a sidebar on BIG DUMB FACE in an article on Wes (Borland, that is). Seems he says a few good lines about El Greco. The thing no one can understand though is why Guitar World claims that El Greco's "real name" is BRIAN FULLER. Even though this is obviously some sort of odd mix-up, at least it might help learn people that El Greco is NOT Greg Shirilla. When will you people learn that they just look alike?
August 22, 2000 Boy howdee! The 6-pack of Stank lyrics are up! Go check them out. Learn them well. And you can impress your parents with how well you know thew words of El Greco. They'll surely be mighty proud.
August 21, 2000 Anyone on the current mailing list will more than likely receive an e-mail with the following info, but just in case no one ever gets around to it, let it be known that El Greco's e-mail address has changed from grecorock@AOL.com to grecorock@HOTMAIL.com. Yes, El Greco is no longer a slave to the internet fascists.
August 19, 2000 So it's out. Yep, El Greco is in the September issue of Alternative Press (page 68). Lumped inside of a Limp Bizkit article. Can't help but wonder how many people think that he's some sort of rap-metal guy. No contact info was included though. El Greco himself was heard uttering, "What the fuck good does that shit do me if no one can't even get ahold of me to buy my fucking tapes?!" We agree. But hey, they printed a cool picture.
July 15, 2000 "6-pack of Stank" had it's official release on July 3. So be sure get your copy soon. It features cover art by the infamous trailer-dwelling pedophile known as David Phillips. Shouldn't that alone make it worth purchasing? Also, as some already know (gossip travels quick), El Greco was interviewed by Alternative Press last month. No news yet as to when it will appear, but we will keep you posted. Lyrics to "6-pack" should be posted real soon. In other news, El Greco, along with some of his posse (including Norah™ Utley), were recently spotted at the Liars Club playing air guitar with Nash Kato of Urge Overkill-fame. Kato insisted that Utley "got all the solos."
June 18, 2000 Well, as you can see, we've gotten a new domain (so why not bookmark it now) and have done some revamping to the site itself. Also, we have added a guestbook, so go ahead and post your comments, attitudes, questions, hopes, dreams, and fears about El Greco.
June 16, 2000 Gregory Shirilla finished up the final mix of El Greco's latest release, "6-pack of Stank," late last night. There will be a private listening party tinight at Shirilla's abode. We are sorry to announce that this is by invite only. El Greco will be in attendance, and will no doubt be 3 sheets to the wind by the time the festivities get underway. As for the release date, word has it that the artwork is still unfinished. But "within the month," is what we've been told.
April 5, 2000 Exactly one month later, and what do we do? We add two more questions to the vote-poll-page-thing. Sorry we've been so slack on this page. That's gonna change. We promise! Oh, we added a new counter too. Like it?
March 5, 2000 Just added the "place your vote for the best EL GRECO song" poll to the front page! Everyone vote yet? In other news, El Greco has been slowly (but what else could you expect?) working on new material. Word has it that 3 songs have been "almost" finished since the last news. Rock on!
February 6, 2000 Earlier this week, Greg Shirilla got himself a new 4-track recorder. So as all may have guessed, this prompted El Greco to to do a bit of kissin' up. And as usual.....it worked. Shirilla let the Greco use his shit. So therefore, El Greco recorded what could be his latest "big hit" last night. The title? "Super Dance." If we had some of that MP3 technology on this site, then maybe you'd be able to get a sample, but we don't. So keep waiting....
January 22, 2000 The El Greco "greatest hits" cassette sampler, "Satan Ain't Got Shit On Me..." was finished earlier this week. It's been put together to give people a sampling of tunes off all three previous releases. It's slowly making it's rounds, and will hopefully be in the hands of some top notch record execs very soon.
December 12, 1999 It sounds too hard to beleive, but it is indeed the truth. Mr. Greco actually stayed sober long enough yesterday to get all of the "I'm A Bird" lyrics written out for us. Hence, the lyric section is now complete. Enjoy.
December 11, 1999 Added this page and lyrics page. Lyrics however, are slightly incomplete at this time. If you can believe it (and we're sure you can), El Greco actually forgot majority of the lyrics off the first 2 tapes. He is currently transcribing the lyrics from the "I'm A Bird" cassette. Hopefully these won't take quite as long. Can you imagine if we asked him to write out the tabliture for the music?!
