You’ve been traveling the country with your wife Whitney installing one-night art shows for the last six-months on what you’re calling the “Tour of Doodie”. Off days have been spent traveling and working on new pieces. How much of this was planned out in advance?

Whitney and I had 1 solid date for a show before we left Portland. It was the show at Buddy in Chicago. That was only conceivable because Greg S. hooked us up with the guys from Buddy. The next show we had in Columbus at BLD...(R.I.P.). It was one of the few options we new about in Columbus, where we could have a "one night group show". But that wasn't solid until about three weeks before it went up. Every thing else was just asking people at art shows, record stores and friends that live in the area. It was sketchy at times but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Six months is a long time to be traveling in a van with cats and most of your belongings. Did the two of you ever feel like packing it in early or was that not an option?

Packing it early was the furthest thing from both our minds. We were even thinking of just continuing to live in our van in Portland just to extend the road trip. The freedom of living on the road is like no other, not knowing what day it is, what time it is, or what state we are in, is truly unbeatable.

You have a couple of Neil Blender tattoos. I can only assume that Blender was an influence on you? Are there any skateboard graphics in particular that you’ve always loved?

Jeff Grosso hair for SANTA CRUZ, Neil B. speakers for ALIEN WORKSHOP, Ray Barbie Rag Doll with cards for POWELL

Much of your income comes from selling your paintings on the streets of Portland. Do you prefer this to gallery shows?

Hell yes I prefer street sales to galleries. When we sell on the street we get to meet the people and talk to them. They can connect a face and personality to the art work, Plus our friends stop buy to say hello and we all just kind of hang out and talk. It is soooo much more laid back than most galleries. The best thing about a galleries show is that, it doesn't rain inside.

(insert one question you’ve always wanted to be asked here) What is the name of your cat?

Eddie.
