2009: Showing some work this month with fellow art

Sampson & Blütt.
Friday the 20th at WILLOW
here in Chicago. Should be a casually
raucous show. We'll drink beers with you. Also did another
poster for my good friends at the Paul Green School of Rock
Music. This time for the punk show. Check
it out here. If you can't figure it out, it's an ode
to my teenage idol and king of mid-80's hardcore flyers
and covers, PUSHEAD.
Up to this point I don't think I've tried to mimic a "Pushead
skull" since about 1988. Much fun...
October 2009: Sure it's not Christmas
yet, but decided to do a little
painting inspired by Emmet
Otters Jug-Band Christmas. One of the best holiday specials
of all time! If you've never seen it, do it this year...
September 2009: Made a painting
of Nick Drake as a gift for a friend's birthday. She's
rather fond of the fella. Got me listening to him again.
It's been awhile. Also, pre-ordered a copy of Light:
On The South Side. Can't wait for this to show up at
my doorstep!
August 2.0: Wound up doing a
memorial
painting for an old friend named Radley
who passed away this week. He will be sorely missed. He
meant a lot to a lot of us. You can check more pics of the
little old man here...

What's new so far this month? Should we start with the big
guy? Sure. So anyway, finished and installed a big
mural type piece for a bar/restaurant in Chicago called
the
Old Oak Tap. If yer in the area stop in. The food is
frikkin' great. And here's a little watercolor
I did of a good friend as part of a benefit in his behalf
to help supplement growing medical bills. Bullshit. I also
redesigned this
from an older drawing — obviously based off the stylings
of Alfons Mucha — for a new tattoo courtesy of Mr.
John Cronin. Got the outline done, color is coming sometime
next week.
July 2009: Finished painting
a custom version of Nathan
Hamill's new vinyl toy. It's a lil' racoon fella by
the name of Boris. Painted him up in the image of the Powerslave-mummy
version of
Iron Maiden's Eddie. It'll be a part of the release
show at Meltdown
Comics in LA on the 17th. Have a sneak
peek.
June 2009: Shipped off some giraffe
paintings this week for a show at Altered
Space Gallery in Venice on the 3rd of July. Totally
got all obsessed with giraffes again. Not sure why. Also
got a SUB>POP
tattoo this month. Been talking about doing that for
years. Don't ask, it's a long story. And probably totally
boring to you.
May 2009: Finished up my painting
for an upcoming MELVINS tribute show. It's in celebration
of their 25th anniversary. Take a look.
